Bird Box (2018) movie review

Genre: Drama/Horror/Sci-fi
Runtime:124minutes
Rating: 90%
Cast includes;
Sandra Bullock
Trevante Rhodes
John Malkovich
Vivien Lyra Blair

An unknown force wipes out almost the entire population leaving only a few survivors and the simple rule to surviving is "If you can't see it, you survive." A woman must now fight for her survival and that of her two kids and the journey they must embark on in order to find sanctuary seems impossible because no matter what they should keep their blind folds on. I don't get people who are comparing this movie to 'A Quiet Place' movie. There's no doubt the latter was good but  that juxtaposition is not fair on the Bird box because it eliminates the ability of one to entirely appreciate this movie on it's own without a comparison. A few minutes into the movie i couldn't believe what i was seeing, i mean the movie dived into the action sooner than what most of these so called horror movies are doing. I actually appreciate the fact that we don't clearly see what this destructive force is hence the suspense builds up.

The incorporation of diverse actors with outstanding ones like Sandra Bullock and John Malkovich  also made me appreciate this movie more. The acting from the cast was really strong and created a tense atmosphere in the movie. Even though John Malkovich was a big jerk, he was really good at it and reminded me of him in 'Con Air.' On the other hand, this movie also stirs up some sad emotions especially when focusing on the mother and her two children trying to navigate their way to the sanctuary blind folded. I don't know how she did it with two kids but this also opened my eyes to the fact that they're people who live their lives like that each and every day because they are blind. Even though the end was not really what i expected since i would have loved a close up of this force and what it's about, it's still a movie well done. It's a movie i will definitely never forget.

 Is Bird Box movie about the awareness of Psychosomatic Hysteria or it's just a movie?

It has been debated that the bird box is aimed at raising awareness on mental related problems. It doesn't end there, some have even claimed this movie is all about biological warfare. While so many questions remain unanswered, one thing is for sure. This is a movie worth watching despite the story behind it.
