Coach Billy Baker(Taye Diggs) recruits a rising high school player from South Central to join his Beverly Hills team. Even though Spencer is skeptical about the move, his mom and friend convince him to go. The transition from a ghetto to affluent Beverly Hills seems too overwhelming for not only Spencer but coach Billy's son who feels insecure and intimidated by the attention his father gives Spencer. With Spencer trying to remain in contact with his roots, he also stays focused on his goal in Beverly Hills. The constant juxtaposition of the ghetto and Beverly Hills makes one appreciate this series more. The high class lives in Beverly Hills vs the lives in the ghetto give rise to endless suspense and drama throughout the series so i recommend this one. Even though the series is centered around high school kids, i still think they look more like college students but all the same, it's still worth your time.
