The Johnsons move from Michigan to a new hood that is very different from what they are used to. On top of that, their new neighbor Calvin Butler seems indifferent about the new family. Calvin seems concerned that the new family will disrupt the culture in their neighborhood and acts a bit hostile towards the Johnson especially Dave. On the other hand, the latter is determined to foster relations with Calvin. If anything, the white people in this comedy try to understand black people and vice versa and this is how some of the humor is derived. Despite the stereotypes surrounding each race, this comedy tries to eradicate racism by teaching lessons of understanding and loving one another despite one's skin color. Oh, it would be totally wrong of me if I don't mention the great cast of the neighborhood. The combination of Tichina Arnold (Everybody hates chris) Beth Behrs (2 broke girls) and Cedric the Entertainer is definitely one u don't want to miss out on. I guarantee you will definitely be laughing throughout the entire episodes and the very first episode may seem slow and not so good but it picks up really fast and you will be glad you gave it a try.
